Orientation to Veterinarians on Brooke Animal Health Mentoring Framework (AHMF)

The Animal Health Mentoring Framework is designed to improve the animal healthcare system by continuously enhancing the practices of Animal Health Practitioners (AHPs) and minimizing harmful practices. This approach aims to strengthen animal welfare, promote better health, and ultimately boost productivity. With this objective, AHTCS organized an orientation session on the framework for a group of 12 veterinarians from both government and private sectors on 20th April 2025. The session featured a brief interactive discussion and hands-on activities, which were enthusiastically received by the participants, who expressed strong interest in implementing the framework in their respective workspaces. Facilitated by Dr. Nabin Poudel and Dr. Sudarshan Bhattarai, the session also welcomed Mr. Shiba Kumar Pradhan, Chairperson of AHTCS, as a guest. We are hopeful that this framework will soon become an integral part of the livestock service system at the local government level, as well as in private clinics and hospitals, to regularly assess and improve the competence of AHPs.
