Exposure Visit and Peer Monitoring on Best Practices Among Equid Owners
On February 16, 2025, the Animal Health Training and Consultancy Service (AHTCS) field office Nepalgunj organized an event for animal owners to share helpful practices and learn from each other’s experiences. The event took place in Birata, Nepalgunj-21, Banke, and 38 horse owners from two nearby brick kilns, RKL and SK Brick Kiln, attended.
The program started with horse owners from RKL Brick Kiln talking about the best ways they care for their animals and some common mistakes they’ve seen. Then, owners from SK Brick Kiln discussed these practices and gave feedback. After that, the owners from SK Brick Kiln shared their own practices, and RKL owners were encouraged to try them out.
The visit allowed the participants to exchange useful ideas and improve their knowledge of horse care. It also highlighted the importance of supporting each other and learning from peers to improve animal care in both brick kilns.
