Visit to equine congregation point at Triveni, Rukum

AHTCS Working Equines Welfare Project (WEWP) has been organizing a yearly equine congregation point visit to Radijiula, Rukum since 5 years. The visit includes general health checkup camp of equines, micro-sessions to owners and handlers, skill enhancement of the LSPs etc. This year also, a 4 days long visit was made from 15 to 18 December. The congregation point has now shifted to Triveni which lies in Aathbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum. The visiting team was led by Dr. Rockson Karmacharya and accompanied by technicians duo Keshar Raibhat and Lal Bahadur Chaudhary and Anita Pokhrel, Information and Communication Officer. 


During the visit, activities such as free equine health check up camp, micro-sessions to owners and handlers, distribution of IEC materials, some equine medicines, hoof picks and orientation to agro-vet owners about drug abuse were conducted. Likewise, the team also organized a coordination meeting with the authority of Aathbishkot Municipality.


From the visit, 56 equine owners/handlers and 400 equines were benefited.
